On the afternoon of Monday September 18, the Olympic Youth Camp visited one of Sydney's northern beaches. After an aproximately 90-minutes drive, campers arrived on the yellow sands of the famed Collaroy Beach. This beach is popular among Sydney surfers for its waves.

Awaiting the campers on the beach was a demonstration of Surf Lifesaving by actual Surf Lifesavers. Campers watched a rescue and a relay of inflatable motorboats, sand races (relays and the game FLAGS), rowing, and paddling. Afterwards, the OYC was given the opportunity of participating in some of the demonstrated activities.

Otherwise, they could go for a swim in the cool waters of the South Pacific, join a friendly game of volleyball or soccer, or just enjoy taking the sun. Awaiting the campers on the beach was a demonstration of Surf Lifesaving by actual Surf Lifesavers.

The afternoon culminated in a barbecue of assorted sausages, after which the Surf Lifesavers presented the OYC with swimming caps for each person. Finally, at 18:30 campers boarded buses back to Joey's, tired but having enjoyed a great outing.
